Five Situations When People Build a Plan
Read Time: 1 min
There are generally 5 situations when people build a plan:
- Vision: When you have a vision of what you want the future to be or what you want to accomplish, but maybe you don't have all the details mapped out. Create a structured plan so you can fill in the details and plan ahead to increase the odds of your vision actually happening.
-
Looking for Balance or Change: We have all achieved varying levels of success in the different areas of our lives. You may not necessarily have a concrete vision, but you know you'd like some sort of change in certain area(s) of your life or at least have a more balanced life. - Danger Ahead: Planning for potential or actual danger ahead can help you minimize or avoid the danger. Unfortunately, some unpleasant things cannot be totally avoided, but maybe their impact can be minimized by planning ahead.
- During a Crisis: If you aren't able to avoid danger or a crisis, that doesn't mean you're completely helpless. Making a plan while you're in a crisis improves your chances of minimizing the impact and/or shortens the time you're in crisis.
- After a Crisis: After a crisis it's time to rebuild. Create a plan to get your life back to where it was before the crisis (or in an even better place). Also, try to plan and prepare so the same crisis won't happen again, or at least won't have such a substantial impact on your life.
Keeping you focused on the important things.
So you can live your best DAM life!
